The reverse of the coin presents the wonderful coloured image of the famous painting “Great Wave”, the most recognizable works of Japanese art in the world. The coin depicts depicts an enormous wave threatening three boats off the coast of the town of Kanagawa, while Mount Fuji rises in the background. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “2020” – the year of issue, “NIUE ISLAND” – the issuing country and “1 DOLLAR” – the face value.
